With our introductions of the Sirius and Capella models, STAR has been transformed in many ways. To better communicate and present our Brand Vision, Brand Purpose, and Brand Promise for the future, we have changed our company name from JH Global Services, Inc. to STAR EV Corporation. This change reflects our laser focus on promoting the STAR brand in the global market and becoming the most innovative designer and manufacturer of PTVs.

Our new corporate name is now effective. All legal agreements under JH Global Services, Inc will be resumed automatically by STAR EV Corporation. Please make sure to update our logo on your website and any other marketing materials. Our new logo and these marketing materials can be found in the newly centralized marketing page on the Dealer Portal.

New Federal LSV Requirements

A new NHTSA requirement (FMVSS 141) will be effective on September 1, 2020, which will require all Low-Speed Vehicles to be equipped with an Electric Vehicle Minimum Sound Standard device. This safety device will create a sound that allows the vehicle to be heard when operating at low speeds. Please note that STAR complies with all Federal LSV requirements such as the usage of backup cameras and the wearing of seat belts. Each LSV is dyno-tested off the production, and speed data is recorded.

Effective Monday, 8/10, there will be a $100 price increase on any new LSV orders to cover the new Federal imposed LSV requirements.

 
Ride with the Tide

With the successful launch of the STAR-Sirius Southern Tide Limited Edition, we will continue to offer this limited edition model through the end of the year. This beautiful vehicle was created by the designers at Southern Tide, a premier lifestyle company best known for its high-end contemporary fashion, as well as their trademarked Skipjack logo. The Southern Tide Limited Edition Sirius is available in both lifted and non-lifted 2+2 and 4+2 models. A national marketing campaign with Southern Tide is scheduled for September 2020. We recommend that each dealer feature one Southern Tide model in their showroom. 

 
Marketing and Co-Op Funding

The Marketing tab in the Dealer Portal has had a makeover. Please login to view the new advertisements, social media slicks, STAR logo, photos of our models (including Capella and Southern Tide Limited Edition).

A reminder that the 2019-2020 co-op marketing year ends September 30, 2020. You will have until December 31, to utilize your 2020 co-op balance.

Consumer Finance Update

The Sheffield Consumer Finance programs have been widely successful and a significant portion of car sales have been financed using these promotions. We are pleased to continue to offer these programs with the same financing options such as 0% for 24 months or 2.9% for 48 months. Please note that we have made a slight adjustment to the participation amounts paid by STAR. Please visit the Finance Tab on the Dealer Portal for complete details.

 
2021 Model Year Change and Technical Updates

On May 1, 2020, all-new orders for STARs were scheduled in production as 2021 Models. Additionally, with the model year change, we have made or are making numerous updates to the Sirius and Capella which, are not limited to:

Coming in FALL 2020-Vehicle Improvements
Sirius:
  • Integrated Lithium offers
  • 2nd generation headlights are 5x brighter than the current lights
  • 2nd generation display with CAN2.0B communication. STAR is the first to use this automotive standard in an LSV, this display will show the check engine indicator and trouble codes on the display
  • Wire harness with CAN2.0B communication, paving the road to connect the controller, display, battery, charger and, other devices.
  • Improved bagwell with middle divider for better-securing of golf bags
  • Improved A-arms with grease fittings and better ball joints
  • Improved single click parking brake on short cars
  • Improved service and parking brake on long cars
Capella:
  • Improved 2+2 Roof design for increased strength and an attractive style
  • Improved digital display with standard time and Fahrenheit temperature

Capella Tire/Rim Upgrade

Capella has been a terrific success with dealers and consumers nationwide! As of June 1st, Capella is standard with
the Radial  tire, providing increased comfort and a smooth ride.

Capella is also now available with a 12″ tire/wheel upgrade (2TR507) for $80.00.

* Please note that the rims have a -15mm offset which slightly pushes the tire outside the wheel well.
